A few events happened before settlement began in Richmond. Will mention
them now and amplify them later.
1. 60th Regiment, British Army raised in America 1756
2. American Revolutionary War 1775-1783
3. UEL to Upper Canada
4. Napoleonic Era/War [to 1815]. Each of the above had a part in Settlement
of the present day Ottawa Area
Start settlement 1800 [present day Ottawa Area]
